Fantasy Football: Top TE sleeper picks based on ADP for season-long
The tight end position doesn't matter, right? Right. Wait, no. You just need to wait on some of these names late in your draft.
Fantasy Football Sleepers Picks
Tight End
We’re excluding the top-12 tight ends from this exercise and focusing on the back-end of your draft. Confidence levels from 1-5 will be provided. I like targeting QBs, offense, opportunity and upside at tight end if you’re going to wait this long.
Luke Musgrave, Packers (ADP: TE17, 147th overall)
The Packers are getting a ton of hype. Tucker Kraft is working his way back from a torn pec and could start the season on the PUP list. There are a lot of mouths for Jordan Love to feed in the passing game, but Musgrave may not have to split as many snaps, at least early in the season.
Isaiah Likely, Ravens (ADP: TE18, 183rd overall)
If you’re grabbing Likely, you likely need to, oh dear was I really about to make that joke? You’ll wanna grab another starting tight end is what I’m getting at. Likely is behind Mark Andrews, who is being drafted as the TE4. That seems high. Andrews missed time last season due to a cracked fibula sustained in Week 11. Here are Likely’s stat lines from Week 12-17.
Week 12: 4 catches, 40 yards
Week 13: 5-83-1
Week 14: 5-70-1
Week 15: 3-56-0
Week 16: 2-42-2
Week 17: 2-31-1
Likely has 8 TDs over two seasons in just 10 starts. It wouldn’t surprise me much if Likely split snaps/targets with Andrews or eventually overtook him as the starting TE (at least in terms of fantasy).
Zach Ertz, Commanders (ADP: TE31, 241st overall)
Ertz is old. He’s 33 years old and hasn’t played a full season since 2019. But he’s going super overlooked in fantasy football. Ben Sinnott is being drafted as a fringe top-20 TE. He’s third on the depth chart behind Ertz and John Bates. In redraft, season-long formats, Ertz should be going before Sinnott. Ertz is also familiar with the offense having played under Washington OC Kliff Kingsbury in Arizona. IF Ertz can stay healthy, he has a shot to be a TE1. Similar to Likely, have some TE insurance if you take Ertz.
Gerald Everett, Bears (ADP: ????)
My favorite “wtf” play at tight end is Everett. He’s sort of ahead of Cole Kmet on the depth chart? That was at least the case in the last preseason game. You probably don’t need to go out of your way to draft Everett, which is nice. But he’s worth monitoring as a waiver pickup if your TE situation sucks. Everett could be a nice red-zone target for QB Caleb Williams this season.
